Glen Mills, PA – The Glen Mills Schools in Delaware County has been accredited by CARF International. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is a private, internationally known, not-for-profit organization that promotes quality rehabilitation services.
Glen Mills has been accredited based on its recent survey for the following program(s)/services(s):
Behavioral Consultation (Children and Adolescents)
Residential Treatment (Children and Adolescents)
Governance Standards Applied
Representatives from CARF arrived on campus for a two-day evaluation of our residential program. The in-depth evaluation included student interviews, staff interviews, reviewing student/staff files, touring campus, reviewing organizational documents, and the school’s compliance in approximately 1900 CARF standards. The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of persons served. It does this by establishing standards of quality for organizations to use as guidelines in developing and offering their programs or services to consumers. Dr. Brian J. Boon, President and CEO of CARF International, said “this achievement is an indication of your organization’s dedication and commitment to improve the quality of the lives of the persons served.” He added “your organization should take pride in achieving accreditation.”
Dr. Randy Ireson, Executive Director of The Glen Mills Schools, called it a “proud day for the Glen Mills Schools to receive accreditation by CARF International, which is guided by internationally recognized service standards and best practices.” He said “this is a public statement that the Glen Mills Schools strives to ensure that our services are of the highest possible quality and has made a specific commitment to put the needs of our students at the center of everything we do. It also demonstrates the Glen Mills Schools has opened our service delivery and business processes to outside scrutiny in order to improve the quality of our programs and ensure that our services are of the highest possible quality for the young people that we serve.”
This national accreditation will make Glen Mills an even more reputable program.
