Glen Mills powerlifting team wins national championship

     Four Battling Bulls claimed individual national titles to lead the Glen Mills Schools powerlifting team as they captured the Raw Team crown at the USA Powerlifting High School National Championships at the Hilton in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 29th -April 2nd.
     The Bulls earned 93 team points, easily outscoring runner-up St. Johns High School from Massachusetts  (38) points and Ionia High School from Michigan (24).
     Kentarius Simpson (52 kg, 114.6 lbs.), Kerry Cottrell (67.5, 148.8), Quadir Gibson (110, 242.5), and D’Amonte Bell (125, 275.5) won individual national titles.
     “Being a national champion feels great,” Simpson, like the majority of his teammates a first year lifter, said. “This is awesome and our hard work really paid off.”           
     Meanwhile, Eddie Frazier (75, 165.3) was a national runner-up as Tarion Carlton (90, 198.4) and Andre Colen (100, 220.5) earned third place national finishes.
     Jihad Jordan (60, 132.3) and Bruce Asbury (75, 165.3) were fourth place finishers while Aaron Coleman (110, 242.5) came in fifth nationally.
